My obsession with tie-dye continues...

with these adorable pieces from ADAM

FYI, my first tie-dye obsession this season was a hand-painted pink dress from ADAM although I ended up buying a dress from Graham and Spencer instead. Wish I had seen both this blue dress and my dress (and tried on both) before purchasing... I think that I might have made the right choice since dropped shoulders a la this ADAM blue dress usually look horrendous on me but you never know....

Not your mother's tie-dye

I posted a dress earlier that had kind of a tie-dye look (which I did end up buying), but it seems that tie-dye is hot again. I am loving the tie-dye look this year - think it'll look great with gladiator sandals.

Help!!

I have been obsessed about finding a patent navy handbag a la this Gucci bag.

(pic from Instyle.com, bag from Gucci)

The only thing is I don't want to pay $1500 for it. I've been looking everywhere and haven't found any that I like. HELP!!

Reverse heels?

Have you ever seen shoes that look like this?

(pic from Barneys.com, shoes from Jil Sander)

I guess when we wear heels, the arch actually does not touch the sole of the shoes. But still... This looks like it would be painful...

Might have to make a trip to Barneys this weekend to find out!

Buy or no buy?

I tried on a new dress yesterday. And I can't get it out of my mind....

It's a Graham & Spencer strapless silk dress which looks even more awesome on a real body (even though it does look pretty good on the alabaster-white perfect figured mannequin). Can be casual or dressy (multi-purpose for all events in Africa). Feather-light (so I can take to Africa) and hand washable (so I can wash in Africa if needed).

Methinks, it is the perfect dress to take to Africa (and to have for this summer and maybe wear to a summer seaside wedding). The only thing holding me back is that I think the tie-dye look might be too trendy. What do you think?

Gladiator complex

The highest item on my shopping list this spring is the gladiator sandal
Only problem is, I don't want to spend too much money on it. But some pricey options have caught my eye once again! (My fav is the middle one. But alas, it's the most expensive one....)

Polyvore

I've been having too much fun on Polyvore.

I've made one for my school fashion (although my real school fashion is quite a bit more modest and subdued.)

I've made one just for fun.

And I've made one for baby girls. (This one's for you Sarah!)

New glasses!

I've finally gotten new eyeglasses!

I've been wanting to get funky pastic rims, but have found that most of them are not suited for Asian faces with lower bridges. Hence, when wearing them, the lens actually hits my eyelashes or in the worst cases, my eyelids.

And then I found Prodesign. Their designs are pretty funky, but better yet, many come with nosepieces so that I can wear them.

Love it!

Stylist for a day?

I just found this site where you can have some fun mix-n-matching.

More black pumps

Classic black pumps

My friend Jess and I talked about classic black pumps last night over some wine.
We both noted how we've been buying all these boots, flats, sandals etc. And that it has been a while since we've bought a pair of classic black pumps.  So I scoured the net for a few.

Note to Jess: The Loeffler Randalls are the ones I was telling you about last night. They also make those in a snake embossed print, which are awesome!

{Spring 08} Kooba

I seem to have a fixation with handbags today.

But how gorgeous are these bags from Kooba?

{Spring 08} YSL handbags

Anyone who knows me knows that I am all about vibrant colors.
So how could I not love these YSL bags?

The only problem is, I can't decide which of these I like better......

{Spring 08} Loeffler Randall

My favorite shoe purchases from last year have been from Loeffler Randall. Their shoes are fashionable yet really comfy.

Good news for me is, the styles haven't changed that much from last year so I guess my last years purchases are still very very wearable. Bad news (for my pocketbook) is that there are some new shoes that need to be in my closet!

The wrap dress

People say that the wrap dress flatters everyone.

The folding style of the wrap dress supposedly hugs a body in all the right places, skimming the hips, clinching the waist and exposing cleavage. Upon this, Diane von Furstenburg has built an empire. And year after year we are presented with one wrap dress after another and girls snap them up as soon as they hit the racks.

But the wrap dress does not flatter everyone. I am among the few the wrap dress does not flatter. I have long given up on the wrap dress, especially the ones with the geometrical prints which curiously add 10 pounds on me (whilst shedding 10 pounds off other girls)...... But I feel like I should give it another try with this silky solid one.

Shoe lust...

What I want for spring

Spring isn't quite here yet in Chicago.

But a girl can still look, can't she?

Here are some things that I loved from style.com's list of spring shopping must-haves.

And it was all yellow...

Yellow is everywhere this spring.

And Loewe has the best yellow handbags. I don't know if they have shops in the US, but there were so many Loewe boutiques in Madrid. I was salivating over them last weekend... But the US$ is so week that I didn't even dare walk within reaching distance.
My favorite was a beige handbag that had yellow straps, but I couldn't find any pics on the internet.

{Spring 08} Lauren Conrad

One of my guiltiest pleasures is watching the Hills

Which is why I was excited to see LC's wares being sold on Shopbop.

(Lauren Conrad collection from shopbop.com)

Kinda reminds me of Rachel Pally, which so many people love... Not sure the styles are right for me, but excited for LC that her line is being carried by a major retailer.

Anyway, can't wait for the Hills to continue. I'm dying to see what happens in Paris!
